THINGS TO DO IN MADISON

Grab coffee and snacks at the Dane County Farmer’s Market.

Held every Saturday morning on the square surrounding the Wisconsin State Capitol building. Be sure to try Stella’s Hot & Spicy Cheese Bread, pastries from Graze Madison, fresh produce and squeaky cheese curds.

Visit the Wisconsin State Capitol.

While you’re at the Market, step into the Capitol building and head up to the Observation Deck for a panoramic view.

Run, walk or bike along one of Madison’s many bike paths.

We recommend running or biking along the 13-mile Lake Monona loop or at the Madison Arboretum (which happens to be where we got engaged).

Rent bikes at Machinery Row downtown, or from one of Madison’s many BCycle stations.

Visit the Memorial Union Terrace.

Grab a beer, a brat and a few scoops of Babcock ice cream, and take in some live music and great views of Lake Mendota.

Rent paddleboards or kayaks at Brittingham Boats.

Explore Lake Monona.

Visit the Henry Vilas Zoo.

It’s free and fantastic for all ages!

Take your kids to the Madison Children’s Museum.

Located right downtown.
